End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC)

The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) is an education initiative to improve palliative care. Since 2001, ELNEC has trained over 12,400 nurses and other healthcare professionals from all 50 US states, including over 2,500 from 69 countries on 6 continents.

In addition to providing ELNEC courses, ELNEC faculty and trainers have consulted with educators, health administrators, and community leaders to improve care of the dying.

There are currently 6 ELNEC curricula available in English:

ELNEC Online

ELNEC-Core, Pediatric Palliative Care, Geriatric, and Veterans modules are available for online learning through the Hospice Education Network

ELNEC International

ELNEC has been adapted and translated to increase its relevance within other cultures:
